Avalon lives in the memory of the earth. It is the place where Yeshua walked as a boy, where Joseph of Arimathea planted the Holy Thorn, where the Magdalene held her mystery in silence and prayer.
It is the land of the Sacred Marriage, where the sword and the grail, the king and the priestess, the human and the divine, seek reunion within your very cells.Here, we embody Hieros Gamos as living experience.
We enter the bridal chamber of the soul, where the masculine and feminine within you cease their war and make their peace.
We will kneel at the Chalice Well, where the red waters flow like the blood of the earth, like the tears of the Magdalene, like the womb of the Great Mother herself.
We will drink from the White Spring, whose crystalline waters cleanse and clarify, preparing the vessel to receive.
We will climb the Tor, ascending the holy mountain step by step, until the mists part and the sun crowns us with light.
From this place, the dragon lines converge.
From this place, the heart opens.
From this place, we remember who we truly are.
We will stand upon Wearyall Hill, where Joseph's staff took root and bloomed, and feel the Christ current that first entered this land still pulsing beneath our feet.
We will walk the Abbey grounds when the roses release their fragrance and the stones seem to breathe, and know that we walk in the footsteps of the Magdalene herself.

A pilgrimage into the mists of Avalon, where the heart remembers what the mind has long forgotten.
This journey gathers us in the land where Magdalene held her mystery, where the waters carry the blood of the earth, and where the soul enters the bridal chamber of sacred union. Through prayer, presence, and communion with the Tor, the Wells, and the ancient Abbey, we embody Hieros Gamos and return to the holy ones we have always been.
ARRIVAL DAY Sunday, August 22nd — Entering Avalon: The Day of Divine Union
We gather in Glastonbury on August 22nd, the day of Divine Union, crossing the threshold into Avalon and settling into our retreat home.
In the evening, we share a welcome dinner (included) to open the circle, setting our intentions and attuning to the frequencies of the land on this sacred portal day.
This first gathering grounds the initiation into body and earth, weaving safety, coherence, and sacred connection as we step through the mists and into remembrance.
Day 1: Sunday August 23 — Sacred Waters: The Alchemy of Union
We begin our pilgrimage at the two sacred springs that flow from the heart of Avalon, where the masculine and feminine currents run side by side in eternal witness to the mystery of hieros gamos.
At the Chalice Well, we kneel before the red waters, the masculine current rich with iron and earth. This ruddy hue mirrors the blood Yeshua poured out, the sacred life force offered in love and sacrifice. We drink from this ancient source, allowing its strength to open our hearts and fortify the vessel to receive.
At the White Spring, we enter the crystalline cave of pure water, the feminine current milky with calcite and lunar light. Here we drink clarity and receptivity, the milk of the Mother that washes away what no longer serves.
These waters have flowed for millennia, never mixing yet always meeting, teaching us that divine union does not require sameness.
It requires presence.
It requires witness.
Together they form the alchemy of union, the sang real made manifest in liquid form.
This day opens the heart, softens the vessel, and attunes us to the liquid mysteries of the land.
Day 2: Monday August 24 — The Holy Mountain: Glastonbury Tor and the Magdalene Chapel
We begin this day walking the holy labyrinth that culminates at the Tor, spiraling inward as the ancestors did, each step a meditation, each turn a release.
As we walk, the mysteries of the path reveal themselves.
The labyrinth mirrors the journey of the soul, the winding way that leads not away from the center but always back to it. We understand now that all roads lead here, to this holy mountain at the center of the world.
We ascend the Tor step by step through the mists, climbing the ancient terraced path that has carried pilgrims for thousands of years. At the summit, we enter St. Michael's Tower, where the dragon lines converge and the heart opens to receive.
From this place, we see seven counties.
From this place, the veils thin.
From this place, we remember who we truly are.
Later we visit St. Margaret's Chapel and the Magdalene Almshouses, honoring the lineage of the Marys who walked this land. Here in the quiet of the Magdalene Chapel, we gather to chant in Aramaic, the tongue Yeshua and Magdalene spoke, the language of their prayers and their love. We enter deep prayer here, allowing the ancient sounds to vibrate through the stone, weaving our voices into the memory held in these walls.
This day restores the inner foundation of sovereign alignment, inviting us into the vertical axis of heaven and earth.
Day 3: Tuesday August 25 — Magdalene and Christ: Wearyall Hill and Glastonbury Abbey with Oliver William Mathea, The Gnostic Druid
We walk with Oliver William Mathea to Wearyall Hill, where Joseph of Arimathea planted his staff and it bloomed into the Holy Thorn. Here we speak of Yeshua, of Joseph, of the Grail, and of the arrival of the Christ current into Avalon. This is where the High Priestesses were initiated, where the memory of the Magdalene runs deep.
At Glastonbury Abbey, we walk among the ruins where stone and rose intertwine, where the Magdalene held her mystery in silence and prayer. Oliver guides us through the Gnostic teachings, the hidden wisdom, and the living presence of the Christos Sophia.
This day awakens the memory of the sacred partnership, the union of Magdalene and Yeshua that pulses beneath the soil of this land.
Day 4: Wednesday August 26 — The Druid Mysteries: Stanton Stone Circle and Wells Cathedral with Oliver William Mathea
With Oliver as our guide, we journey to Stanton Drew Stone Circle, one of the largest and most mysterious stone circles in Britain. Here we stand among the ancient stones, feeling the heartbeat of the earth, the wisdom of the ancestors, the presence of the old gods who never left.
At Wells Cathedral, we enter the sacred geometry of stone and light, where the divine feminine is carved into the architecture, where the waters of the well rise from deep within the earth, where the threshold between worlds has been honored for centuries.
This day connects us to the Druidic roots of the land, the ancient wisdom that predates and intertwines with the Christian mysteries.
Day 5: Thursday August 27 — Ancient Temples: Stonehenge
We travel to Stonehenge, the great stone temple of the ancestors, standing in the presence of stones that have marked the turning of the sun for millennia.
We walk the landscape of the Salisbury Plain, feeling the ley lines that connect this place to Glastonbury, to Avebury, to the whole web of sacred sites across Britain.
This day anchors us in the solar mysteries, the masculine principle, the stone that stands and remembers.
Day 6: Friday August 28 — Ancient Temples: Avebury with Priestess Freya
With local priestess Freya, we enter Avebury, the largest stone circle in the world, where the village and the temple intertwine, where life and sacredness are not separate.
We walk among the stones, feeling the serpent energy that flows through this land, the spiral dance of creation, the womb of the Mother that holds all.
Freya shares the priestess wisdom of this place, the feminine mysteries, the ancient ways that are being reborn.
This day awakens the lunar mysteries, the feminine principle, the spiral that dances and creates.
Day 7: Saturday August 29 — Arthurian Avalon: Tintagel & St Nectan's Glen
We journey to Cornwall, to Tintagel, the legendary birthplace of King Arthur, where the land meets the sea in thunder and beauty. We stand upon the cliffs, feeling the wild power of the Atlantic, the meeting of Merlin's wisdom and Arthur's sovereignty.
At Tintagel, we descend into Merlin's Cave — the sea-washed cavern beneath the castle ruins, accessible only at low tide. This is the embodiment of sovereignty: the cave where Merlin is said to have whispered prophecies to the young Arthur, where the wizard's ancient magic meets the king's divine right to rule. Here in the damp stone and echoing darkness, we touch the source of rightful power as the sovereign self, the inner throne from which we rule our own lives with wisdom and truth. The cave breathes with the tide, a reminder that true sovereignty flows and returns like the sea itself, never forced, always aligned with natural law.
At St. Nectan's Glen, we enter the fairy realm, walking through ancient woodland to the waterfall that cascades into the kieve, a place of deep enchantment and healing.
This day marks the culmination of the initiation, where the journey integrates into the crown of consciousness and divine remembrance.
We return to Glastonbury carrying the full transmission of Avalon, ready to depart on the following morning.
Day 8: Sunday August 30 — Departure
We share a final breakfast, a closing circle, and our blessings for the journey home.
Participants depart carrying the embodied transmission of the Sacred Marriage, integrated into the heart, body, and daily life.
Pilgrimage Accommodations
For our eight days together in Avalon, we make our home at a sanctuary nestled in the heart of Glastonbury, within walking distance of the Abbey and the Magdalene Chapel.
The house carries the energy of retreat, of gathering, of circle work held in sacred intention.
The property offers five bedrooms with shared bathrooms, providing a communal container for our circle. For those who desire additional privacy, two private rooms are available upon request, each with its own bathroom. These limited spaces are offered to pilgrims who feel called to deeper solitude during our days together.
We awaken each morning to the Tor visible in the distance, the holy mountain watching over our days. We gather in the kitchen for breakfast, sharing tea and breaking bread together before we step out into the mysteries of the land. In the evenings, we return to this container, our retreat home, to share stories, to rest our bodies, to allow the day's initiations to settle into bone and memory.
Being within walking distance of the Abbey and the Magdalene Chapel means we move through Glastonbury as pilgrims of old did, on foot, allowing the land to speak to us through the soles of our feet, through the rhythm of our steps.
This house becomes our sanctuary, our base camp for the deep work of remembering, a place where heaven and earth meet in the quiet moments between our sacred excursions.
Transportation
Within Glastonbury, we move as pilgrims have always moved, on foot.
Our retreat home sits within walking distance of most sacred sites, a gentle 15 to 30 minute stroll to the Tor, the Chalice Well, the Abbey, and the Magdalene Chapel. This walking pilgrimage becomes part of the practice, allowing the land to speak through the rhythm of our steps, through the contact between sole and soil.
For our excursions beyond the town, the days we journey to Stonehenge, Avebury, and Tintagel, we travel together in a private van. This allows us to venture beyond Glastonbury's borders as a contained circle, carrying our prayers and intentions with us as we cross the threshold into the wider mysteries of Albion.

Meet our Co-Host: Oliver William Mathea
Oliver is a Wisdom Keeper, Writer, Storyteller, Teacher and Sacred Site Guide. Currently deepening his connection to the Land and Mysteries of Ancient Wales whilst writing his first book.
He is on a soul mission to bring back lost Mystery School Wisdom and Initiations from the Druids, Gnostics and a lost Celtic Christianity.
Oliver is also a scholar specializing in the life and story of ‘Joseph of Arimathea’; who was an Uncle, mentor to Yeshua, guardian and protector to Mary Magdalene and Mother Mary.
He is a passionate teacher for the ancient language of Aramaic spoken by Yeshua and the Essenes.
